Here at RCR, we use Xactimate to estimate all of our jobs. The reason that we prefer this computer software system for determining construction costs is that it has become widely used by insurance companies in the past decade. Insurance companies like Statefarm, Allstate, Erie, Chubb, Farmers, and many others all use Xactimate to see how we are performing our work and to make sure that we are pricing at the proper market value. We can’t start a reconstruction job until we send our Xactimate files over to the homeowners’ Insurance company. Form there, adjusters will then use the Xactimate estimate to match our calculated building damage, repair, and rebuilding costs. Once the adjuster approves the Xactimate estimate, we will then communicate back with the homeowner on how much they are approved. At RCR, we make sure that all of our in-house estimators are certified in Xactimate, allowing them to put together the most extensive estimates for our customers. It is known that when there is a significant restoration reconstruction project, most general contracting companies will bid out the work to multiple subcontractors who will then give their price to restore the home to normal. The difference is that at RCR, we know what the cost will be to perform the restoration reconstruction by using Xactimate software. To further clarify something that we are passionate about, we do not believe in using subcontractors solely to complete the repair. We hold ourselves to a higher standard. We use our inhouse project managers, and IICRC certified technicians to perform demolition and insurance repair unless there is a need for a highly trained specialist (cabinetry, flooring, carpentry). Overall, Xactimate has helped our business with accountability and holding our business to a higher quality. We do not take lightly being a preferred vendor for insurance companies. If you want to know more about why we are a preferred vendor, you can check out our website; it is full of projects that we have performed in the past for our reconstruction customers.
